About Me, Kelsie & My Brave Vira Journey
Athlete, Military Veteran, Yoga Student & Teacher, Founder of Brave Vira Yoga I consider myself a life-long athlete. Starting as a young gymnast & tee-ball enthusiast, my passion for movement and athletics quickly grew. I excitedly swept through four-years of varsity high school sports, and chose to test my grit on the division-one softball team at the United States Military Academy at West Point. While the academy was a fun and challenging experience, ultimately attending meant that I must also serve as a warrior-athlete in the US Army and I gladly accepted that mission. After many airborne operations and deploying to the harsh terrain of Afghanistan, I had worked hard to beat up my body. Today, however, my work includes restoration of body-mind-spirit.
Now, I aim to bring yoga, mindful movement, and healing to fellow athletes and veterans who find themselves in a similar need for restoration & balance. After serving several years in the US Army and navigating the complexities of corporate life, I decided to plunge into a calling that I resisted for many years. All of the skills that I have learned from around the world, military and corporate life, and more recently lessons of entrepreneurship helped me to launched into the yoga world with great ambition. Yoga has been an anchor, a mindful way of living that helps me to arrive more fully, commit more deeply, and think more clearly and I am passionate about sharing this practice with you. |
