About me, Kelsie and my Brave Vira Journey I consider myself a life-long athlete. Starting as a young gymnast & tee-ball enthusiast, my passion for movement and athletics quickly grew. Blessed with a knack for the ball diamond, I went on to play division-one softball at the United States Military Academy at West Point. While the academy was a fun and challenging experience, ultimately attending meant that I must also serve as a warrior-athlete in the US Army and I gladly accepted that mission. After many airborne operations and deploying to the harsh terrain of Afghanistan, I had worked hard to beat up my body, but since then my daily ritual includes restoration of body-mind-spirit.
After serving in the Army I found my way to corporate life, consulting and even an entrepreneural stretch of teaching yoga and leading a studio. Throughout the years, yoga has been an anchor, a mindful way of living that helps me to arrive more fully, commit more deeply, and think more clearly. I am passionate about sharing this practice and I hope to encourage a similar spirit of healing and transformation through my teachings. |
