When she went off to college, Breely did not go very far. Originally from Round Rock, Breely is now a sophomore at Southwestern University here in Georgetown where she is studying Political Science.
In addition to be a student athlete, Breely is a Georgetown Young Life leader at Georgetown High School and involved in Greek Life on campus. With such a busy schedule, she finds that the mat is the perfect place to wind down and re-center herself, especially in a hand to heart pose. If she’s not at the studio in her free time, you can find Breely at one of the local coffee shops here in town. Breely found yoga over a winter training session with the Southwestern University Swimming & Diving Team. After trying every sport she could find, at the ripe age of eight Breely realized she had better stick to the water. She has been a competitive swimmer for 10 years now and while there have been some ups and downs, she can’t resist the feeling of power that comes from moving through the water. Through yoga she has come to feel the same power and realizes the importance of body awareness in everything you do, especially athletics. In times where she isn’t able to be in the pool, yoga provides a similar foundation and connection with her body. Breely doesn’t believe in giving up because of any single challenge, she believes in the power of rising up and overcoming, gaining self-awareness in the process. |
